Nail Thoughts Color Season Collection Breakdown

Has it really been almost 7 months since I've launched new Nail Thoughts colors???  Wow that's actually crazy. The last collection launched was my Celebration Collection! Where we were celebrating my 100th official gel color of course.

But fear not!!! 12 new nail thoughts colors have arrived!

Welcome to the Color Season collection, an ode to the famous color season analysis method that dates back to the early 1900s. I know, i know it already sounds like a boring history lesson, but let me explain!!!

Some of you may have seen those viral videos going around of a person getting draped with different color fabrics to see how the colors reflect on their face. That test is to figure out what colors look best on you based on your skin undertones. Here’s a perfect deep dive from one of my fave youtubers:

The basic premise of the color season concept is that every color can be divided into one the four seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter), and by understanding our own skin undertones and the way color reflects back on to us and compliments us, we can identify what season we personally belong in!

Knowing yours or your client’s color season can help you match them with colors that flatter them perfectly every time. For an easy place to start, just remember this:

Summer and Winter are the cool toned seasons.

Spring and Autumn are the warm toned seasons.

I would say a lot of people already know if they are more warm toned or cool toned, and if they know if they are warm, they will most likely be in the Spring and Autumn season! Then on the contrary if they are cool toned, they are going to be a Summer and Winter. You can even start by asking if they wear gold jewelry (warm) or silver jewelry (cool) and go from there!

Then once you sort of get into the weeds of each of those, there are different categories WITHIN each season for an even more accurate palette.

Light Spring, True Spring, Cool Summer, Warm Autumn, etc. etc.

I took an online quiz a while back (which granted, is not as accurate as an in person analysis) and my result was either Light Spring or True Spring. And I have to say , ever since I started paying attention to even just my loose color season results and trying to wear more of it, it’s actually been crazy to see how much more flattering clothes have been on me!!! I’ve even been getting more random compliments like “you look so good today” and I’ll literally just be wearing a plain t shirt in one of my light spring colors.  And now I’m hooked.

This leads us to back in April, I picked a bunch of samples to figure out a Fall color collection launch and asked everyone to vote on the ones they wanted:

So I counted all the votes and here were the final results!!

Which leads us to the Nail Thoughts Color Season collection! 12 new colors dedicated to the palettes of the color analysis test!

Listen, I’m no professional color analyst but I really did my best to get each of the final color choices  to match one of the specific palettes, so here are the results!
