THE FOUNDER

KATIE MASTERS IS A SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA-BASED NAIL ARTIST.

She opened her own private nail studio 5 years ago and ever since then has become known for her whimsical and abstract nail art style. Her socials are filled with not just nail inspiration, but also business ownership tips, mindset and social media guidance, and a LOT of raw behind the scenes of what it's like to have a beauty industry business.

Struggling with her own social media anxiety and business stress, she knows that owning a business and being your own boss is way more about mentality and emotional health than people realize. So she loves sharing as much guidance as possible to fellow nail artists (or honestly, whoever it speaks to) out there struggling with the same things.

Her end goal is to help inspire you to create your own path and to always stay inspired and connected with what YOU love.

NO MATTER HOW MUCH ANXIETY SHE HAS WITH EVERY LAUNCH, KATIE CONTINUES TO CHALLENGE HERSELF.

She’s constantly learning and loves figuring out any business venture like it’s a giant puzzle. She dove straight into tons of continued education classes on nail care, marketing, etc. and after just three years of being a nail technician, she had to stop taking on new clients because of her growing waitlist of 100+ people. When salons in California shut down for 8 months during COVID, she dove into even more research, building her own online e-commerce site and selling out hand-painted press ons that could never stay in stock for longer than four minutes.

As of recently she launched a collaboration with a popular Japanese gel brand, Kokoist, to create a whole gel color line and nail art brush kit in hopes of making her fellow nail artist’s life a little easier.

With all that being said, she’s not afraid to share the step by steps of all of these things. Knowing how much anxiety and confusion it takes to start something new, Katie wants to create a hub with any resource or information she can to hopefully give nail artists a sense of ease.

Ultimately, helping them realize they are all on their own path, and if they don’t see it, all they have to do is create it.
