Hi! My name is Katie Masters also known as Nail Thoughts and I have a gel line in collaboration with the Japanese gel brand Kokoist! Today I am going to go over my new syrup gel nail color collection called In The Garden! These are all very neutral barely there gel nail colors that are great for the picky clients that always want an exact nude nail, or the perfect pink. These syrup nail colors are very nuanced in their differences and I can’t wait to give you a tour!

Tinted Bases AND matching regular gel colors?!

This syrup gel color collection is also our first venture into matching regular gel colors with the Nail Thoughts tinted bases! So many people have been asking for that and we were a little nervous that it would get confusing, but I’m like you know what! Let’s do what the people want, so here we are!

Now you have the option of doing a quick build up of each color with a tinted base gel or a more light handed delicate sheer look with the same color but in regular gel form. 12 new colors, 24 new products total!

What is a syrup gel?

The term “syrup gel” started in Korea and it’s exactly what you would picture a syrup gel color would look like. Picture an actual syrup, it has almost a true glassy look to it but with a little bit more opacity so you can see through it, but not as clearly as water.

So syrup gel colors share that same quality, you can see through them, but they almost have a little bit more of a milky quality to them to create a little bit more opacity than a true jelly nail color. I would say syrup gels are the perfect mixture of sheer and milky. 

And now that you have these syrup gels in a nail thoughts tinted base coat form AND gel color form, you can experiment with  building opacity or even layering colors and bases on top of each other for a custom color etc.

Daisy Syrup/ Daisy Syrup Base

This is a sheer milky white color that has a slight pink hue to it. It’s great for clients that like a less opaque milky white gel nail color and/or a more cool toned milky white gel nail color. And when it’s built up in the tinted base form you can see more of the pink tone show through!

Plumeria Syrup / Plumeria Syrup Base

This is a sheer milky white gel nail color that is more cooler toned than Nail Thoughts Overcast. It’s also still slightly more sheer of a milky white nail color too, so it’s great for clients that don’t like the full coverage of Overcast and want a more sheer delicate nail look. 

Wisteria Syrup/ Wisteria Syrup Base

This gel color is one of the more sheer ones in the collection. It’s a very cool toned almost purple-y pink gel color that is great for clients that prefer cool tones. And since it’s so sheer, it will take to the color of the nail bed as well adding an extra layer of color dimension. Like with most of these syrup gels, the color will change depending on what color nail bed it’s on top of which ends up creating such a gorgeous barely there nail look, so don’t let the plastic tip swatch fool you!

Water Lily Syrup/ Water Lily Syrup Base

This one has been highly requested for a bit. It’s basically Nail Thoughts Milky Base but with a light shimmer added!  Don’t be fooled though, two coats of this milky white nail color will still give you a sheer effect unlike Nail Thoughts Overcast which is full coverage! It’s great for clients who love to see their natural nail underneath their milky white nails.

Honeysuckle Syrup / Honeysuckle Syrup Base

This syrup gel nail color is a super sheer and warm eggshell toned clear gel. Like with most of these syrup gels, the color will change depending on what color nail bed it’s on top of which ends up creating such a gorgeous barely there nail look, so don’t let the plastic tip swatch fool you!  Built up as a base it will show more of the egg shell tone ( of course that depends on how long the nail is and how much you need to build up).

Dahlia Syrup/ Dahlia Syrup Base

This sheer syrup gel nail color is a more taupe toned gel color. Built up as a base coat it shows a little more of a pink tinted taupe which is great for clients who love a warm toned nail color while also still seeing the natural nail underneath. Like with most of these syrup gels, the color will change depending on what color nail bed it’s on top of which ends up creating such a gorgeous barely there nail look, so don’t let the plastic tip swatch fool you!

Orchid Syrup / Orchid Syrup Base *Katie’s Favorite*

This syrup gel nail color has slightly more opacity than the other colors in this collection. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still sheer, but depending on how heavy handed you apply it, it can give you full coverage without being able to see the natural nail underneath. It’s a super clean pink toned cream color. Built up with base it turns more into a pinky tone depending on how much product you use. Like with most of these syrup gels, the color will change depending on what color nail bed it’s on top of which ends up creating such a gorgeous barely there nail look, so don’t let the plastic tip swatch fool you!

Lantana Syrup / Lantana Syrup Base

This syrup gel nail color is a sheer taupe toned cream gel color. This is another color perfect for a barely there nail look. Like with most of these syrup gels, the color will change depending on what color nail bed it’s on top of which ends up creating such a gorgeous barely there nail look, so don’t let the plastic tip swatch fool you!

Hydrangea Syrup / Hydrangea Syrup Base

This syrup gel color is another one of the more opaque colors in this gel collection. It’s a very light milky pink that offers full coverage but still able to give a sheer look to it. Built up as a base it will be full coverage. This is a super cute perfect mix between milky white and pink nail color that your picky clients will adore! I love it for clients that hate the look of a pronounced or bright pink and want a more subtle look. 

Buttercup Syrup/ Buttercup Syrup Base

This is a nice warm syrupy/sheer glassy pink color. It gives such a healthy and warm glow to your natural nails. Like with most of these syrup gels, the color will change depending on what color nail bed it’s on top of which ends up creating such a gorgeous barely there nail look, so don’t let the clear plastic tip swatch fool you!

Lotus Syrup / Lotus Syrup Base

This syrup gel color is such a gorgeous cool toned pink clear gel color. It’s great for clients who prefer a more cool toned pink. This is one of the more glassy colors so you will see the natural nail underneath two coats of this color which gives a “your nails, but better” look to them! Like with most of these syrup gels, the color will change depending on what color nail bed it’s on top of which ends up creating such a gorgeous barely there nail look, so don’t let the plastic tip swatch fool you!

Hibiscus Syrup/ Hibiscus Syrup Base

This sheer syrup gel color is a warm juicy pink gel color. This is one of the more glassy colors so you will see the natural nail underneath two coats of this color which will make it look like your nails have a juicy lip gloss on them! Like with most of these syrup gels, the color will change depending on what color nail bed it’s on top of which ends up creating such a gorgeous barely there nail look, so don’t let the plastic tip swatch fool you!
